結合數據到決策分析 (Incorporating Data into Decision-Making)
*調查分析報告顯示圖書館從許多方式進行蒐集數據與資料的方式，其中最常被使用的方式是直接與教職員與學生進行非正式的討論。 (Informal discussions with faculty and students) ，其他的方式還有進行問卷調查分析、利用 Email 方式蒐集、進行焦點團體訪談等等。

*在館長取得資料時進行決策分析時，館長希望從資料面獲取1. 瞭解教職員與學生的需求。2. 決定館藏購置的優先順序。3. 進行圖書館實體空間規劃。4. 創新圖書館服務。5. 向母機構展現圖書館存在的價值。6. 透過統計績效分析爭取預算。許多圖書館館長認為圖書館所提供的統計數據對增加預算是沒有明顯幫助的，僅有 40% 到60% 的館長覺得圖書館提供的相關數據有利用進行決策分析。

圖書館領導者角色 (The Role of the Library Director)
*從與直屬主管有相同願景 (My direct supervisor and I share the same vision for the library)的調查來看，不論是大學部、碩士班與博士班的學校組織，贊成的比率都很高。

圖書館經費與人事(budget & staffing)
調查發現館長均認為圖書館專業館員是圖書館重要的核心，因此當經費增加時，第一個優先考慮到的是針對現有館員的薪資調整以及聘雇新館員。
*假設圖書館館長收到10 % 圖書館經費的預算，館長會比較想要進行哪個方面的投資。從館長的選擇來看，聘僱新館員、購置電子期刊資源、圖書館設施之擴建與改造、改善圖書館系統，技術與資訊架構、購置電子書等，調查凸顯目前圖書館專業館員之人力不足之現象。

*館長認為在未來五年若有新增或減少館員時，會從哪些項目進行調整。調查發現館長對館員能夠在與科技相關的創新服務功能的調整展現濃厚興趣，但針對紙本館藏處理之相關部門之館員需求是降低的。

大學部學生的資訊素養(undergraduates & information literacy)
*在調查中館長一致認為圖書館之使命在於幫助學生發展研究 (Research) 、批判性思考 (Critical analysis) 與資訊素養的技能 (Information literacy skills)，調查特別針對圖書館與大學部的學生資訊素養進行分析，調查發現圖書館到大學部課堂中進行資訊素養與圖書館利用指引與提供學生共享學習空間是普遍的趨勢。

館藏發展 (Collections)
*館長針對目前圖書館館藏發展的策略是會利用圖書館策略合作的方式增加電子資源，電子書在圖書館館藏發展的比率與重要性逐漸增加。在研究機構中，保存機構特藏與數位化也是圖書館館長覺得重要的館藏發展的項目。
